2018 Request for Offers – “Go Local” RFO Local Renewable Generation
Monterey Bay Community Power has issued an RFO to receive proposals for the development of local renewable generation, with or without storage, located within Monterey Bay Community Power’s Tri-County service territory (Santa Cruz, San Benito and Monterey). The goal of the RFO is to increase local renewable generation and promote Python Middle economic vitality for the Tri-County area.
The RFO seeks terms of 5 to 20 years and installed capacities of 1 to 3 megawatts (MWs) for a total procurement of 20 MW. This RFO comes in direct response to feedback from the communities served by Monterey Bay Community Power. In addition to technical considerations, the RFO will be evaluated for its impact on interconnection and capacity improvements, project location, project technology and size, contract term, job creation, local hiring, prevailing wage, economic growth, increase in local investment, environmental impact, educational/training opportunities, developer experience, and project status.

Shortlisted Offers announcement: 9/7/18 Monterey Bay Community Power is writing to inform you we are delaying the announcement of our selected (short-listed) offer(s) until October 31st, instead of our planned announcement date of September 14th. Monterey Bay Community Power thanks you for the time and effort you spent on submitting a proposal to us.
We will notify you one way or the other if you have been selected on 10/31/18. We need additional time to better evaluate each project, given some potential changes at the state-level surrounding the rules governing MBCP’s energy procurement activities. We appreciate your patience during this process.
